The Week Ahead: The Ah-Ah-Ah Ah-Ah-Ah Ah-Ah-Ahhh edition

by Joe Boughner and George Marshall

Matty (@Gerv_Rebrand) actually made this months ago but if the shoop fits...
It's the never-ending homestand! Yes kids, like a whiny millennial arts grad the Sens just won't leave home (also: they're a source of disappointment to their parents). But don't worry, they're taking a spring break trip to the coast next week where they'll probably drink too much and ruin any chance of short term success.

The metaphor hurts because it's true, you guys.

Anyway, off to the preview!

Last week's record

  • 2-0-1

This week's matchups

  • Monday vs. Oh Carolina
  • Wednesday vs. Montreal

Trade Watch: The haiku

Limited no trade
"But guys, I don't want to go!"
Chris Neil breaks his thumb

A royal visit

The man leading the BSens in scoring is coming to the big time. Who is he you ask? Shockingly it's not Colin Greening but Shane Prince. The hockey player currently known as Prince has impressed future Sabres coach Luke Richardson and now has an opportunity to showcase his talents at the NHL level. Will he be able to fill the gaping 4:34 TOI hole that has been left by the injured Chris Neil? Will fans be outraged when he is eventually replaced by someone with far less talent?

Call the logdriver, we've got a jam

With the breaking news that Marc Methot has signed a four year extension, the Sens d-corps has been jammed harder than Leslie Knope (it's a Parks and Rec joke, perverts). Ok, so it's been the case all year long but at least the "unless they can't sign Methot" caveat has been removed from the ol' "Sens will be looking to move a defenseman" narrative.

Oh and, incidentally, despite the numbers game, there haven't been any rumours of Cody Ceci being traded. That's surprising. Wouldn't newspapers make up those trade rumours just so they could use "Ceci you later" as a headline? Get on it, Bruce!

Parting shots

  • Statline of the week: 14 - goals scored last week (also, number of people on the Sportsnet trade deadline panel)
  • Imagined Sun headline of the week: "Go West!"
  • What Sens fans will be complaining about on Twitter: Montreal fans
